A high-performance membrane is an essential component of premium skiwear. Japanese Toray Dermizax™ EV technology was developed to combine advanced weather protection with breathability and flexibility.

The membrane prevents water from penetrating while allowing water vapor to pass outward. This helps moisture generated during physical activity escape more effectively.

Selected TONI SAILER ski jackets and pants combine a 20,000 mm waterproof rating with breathability of 20,000 g/m²/24 h.

What does a 20,000 mm waterproof rating mean?

The waterproof rating describes how well a material resists water pressure. A value of 20,000 mm indicates a high level of waterproof protection, helping shield against snow, rain, and demanding weather conditions.

What does breathability of 20,000 g/m²/24 h mean?

This figure indicates how much water vapor can pass through one square meter of material over 24 hours under defined test conditions. Depending on the testing method, higher values indicate improved moisture transfer. This helps maintain a comfortable microclimate during physical activity.

Beyond the membrane, a fabric's surface treatment also plays an important role. A Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish makes water bead on the outside of the fabric rather than immediately soaking into its outer fibers.

Selected TONI SAILER styles feature a PFAS-free DWR finish. It complements the waterproof membrane and helps prevent the outer fabric from becoming saturated too quickly in wet conditions.

Taped or sealed seams offer additional protection. Stitch holes created during sewing are sealed to help reduce water penetration. Depending on the style, either fully taped seams or sealing in particularly exposed areas may be used.

A premium ski jacket should keep you comfortably warm in low temperatures without adding unnecessary weight. That is why TONI SAILER uses the synthetic insulation PrimaLoft® Gold Active and PrimaLoft® Gold Active+ in selected styles.

Fine synthetic fibers trap air within the insulation layer, reducing heat loss. These materials are also characterized by low weight, softness, and good compressibility.

The Active technologies are designed to balance warmth, breathability, and freedom of movement. They support moisture transfer and retain some of their insulating properties even when damp.

Different insulation weights are used depending on the style, such as 60 g/m² or 80 g/m². This allows warmth to be tailored to each garment's construction and intended use.

SORONA® Fiberballs are a modern synthetic insulation that combines down-like loft with easy-care material properties.

The soft fiber clusters create small air pockets, producing a lofty, insulating structure. The material also offers low weight and good shape retention.

SORONA® technology is made partly from plant-based raw materials. Its distinctive fiber structure supports even warmth distribution and helps preserve the filling's loft.

In selected TONI SAILER ski jackets, SORONA® Fiberballs are combined with PrimaLoft® insulation to provide targeted warmth in different areas of the body.

Down is a proven natural insulating material for premium winter clothing. Its fine, three-dimensional structure traps large amounts of air, delivering high warmth with relatively little weight.

Selected TONI SAILER products use a premium filling of 90% down and 10% feathers with a fill power of 700 cuin.

The term cuin refers to the volume a defined amount of down occupies after compression is released. High fill power indicates a large insulating volume relative to the amount of down used.

Styles labeled accordingly use RDS-certified down. The Responsible Down Standard sets requirements for animal welfare and traceability of certified down throughout the supply chain.

Merino wool is a premium natural fiber particularly well suited to next-to-skin clothing. Its fine fibers can absorb moisture and transport water vapor, while their natural crimp traps insulating air.

As a result, extra-fine Merino helps maintain a balanced microclimate across different temperatures. The fine fiber quality also ensures a pleasant feel against the skin.

Another benefit is Merino wool's natural odor-resistant properties. This makes it especially suitable for premium First Layers and other garments worn close to the body.

TONI SAILER's technical Jet materials stand for close-fitting silhouettes, stretch comfort, and athletic freedom of movement.

Jet Material supports a slim, precise fit without restricting the flexibility needed for skiing. Its elastic construction follows the body's movements and ensures a comfortable fit.

Olympic Jet combines durable material properties with comfortable wear. This makes the fabric technology ideal for demanding skiwear where an athletic look and functional comfort are equally important.

Nylon Ripstop features a special weave with reinforcing yarns. Its distinctive structure improves resistance to the spread of small tears while combining durability with low fabric weight.
